1971 – 1980 – Graduated from Loyola College in 1976 majoring in History. Entered the workforce on August 15, 1977 with Maschmeijer Aeromatics (India) Pty Ltd, Chrompet where I remained till December 1981.
1981-1990 – Moved to Dubai on December 19, 1981. Married in Dubai on November 18, 1982. Became a dad on November 15, 1984. Migrated to Perth Australia on January 9, 1988. Wife diagnosed with ITP in September 1988 dashing our hopes of growing our family.
Naturalized as an Australian Citizen on June 19, 1990.
1991-2000 – Joined the rank and file of the battling Australian while climbing the corporate ladder and assimilating into the fledgling Australian culture and lifestyle. Built our first house in 1998. Underwent my first cataract surgery in 1998. Ticked off a major ‘bucket list’ item in July 2000, thanks to an Incredible Indian, when we got to the top of the World Trade Centre.
2001-2010 – September 11, 2001. Had just finished dinner when a news flash announced the one incident that has forever changed the world. 2002 – Who said that an old dog can’t learn new tricks! Enrolled in an MBA course as a mature aged student (evening classes) and surprised myself with distinctions in the first two units that spurred me on to complete the course (plus the added bonus of being paid by the Tax Office to study!) in May 2005. Finally, after 5 years in the wings, got my membership to the World’s Greatest Club, The Mighty West Coast Eagles, in 2005. Underwent my second cataract surgery in 2006 and first
angioplasty in 2007.
2011-2020 – Met with Gordon Vanspall (RIP my friend) on January 10, 2011 for the last time. Second angioplasty procedure in 2011. Connected with The St Mary’s Class of 1970 in 2014 and became a 17 year old with 46 years’ experience! Currently managing a division of a national company without entertaining thoughts of retirement.
