1970 to 2019

After I left school in 1970 I did an apprenticeship in welding in IOC anticipating my immigrating to Australia where they wanted welders I worked briefly in Dunlop , and then in 1973 Aug I left for Sydney My eldest brother was already there , I immediately got the aforementioned welding job with an icon of the motoring industry GMH where I stayed for 7 years In 1975 I sponsored my wife and as it was compulsory we got married in June In 1978 my parents joined us but sadness soon befell us as my dad passed away in Nov 78 just a few months after arriving here In 1980 we bought our 1st home and I was now working for Tubemakers In 1984 my daughter was born and in 1990 my son (Candice, Brenton) We then moved to our current home in 1995 I joined the AI hockey team and played till my mid 40s and then played squash rather decently I then became assistant purchasing officer for Tubemakers and was there till 2013 when they closed the whole foundry down and took their business to China I am currently working for a German co (Miele) as a sales consultant and looking forward to retiring some time soon (keep working as long as I can) In 2015 I reconnected with all my old St Marys classmates and it made me feel a teenager again 2018 we met again and had a blast as usual and I look forward to the same again in 2020.
